Car dealer review website DealerRater kicked off its 2012 Dealer of the Year Award Program earlier this year, hoping to find car dealers that exhibit that greatest customer satisfaction and loyalty among 41,000 dealerships.

Dealerships will be awarded for "outstanding customer satisfaction," chosen from customers' online reviews posted on DealerRater's site.

Awards are given out each February to dealers that hold the highest PowerScore, which is calculated using an algorithm that ties in each dealership's user rating with its total number of reviews.

To qualify, dealers must have at least 25 new reviews written about them on the site during the previous calender year, as well as an average rating greater than 4.0 out of a possible 5.0

"With more than 41,000 dealerships now in the running, it will be a tight competition among many outstanding dealers throughout North America," said Chip Grueter, President of DealerRater.

Plano, Texas-based Boardwalk Porsche was recently named one of the finalists for Dealer of the Year - the dealership recognized for the highest PowerScore.

Results will be revealed between February 3 and February 6 at the National Automobile Dealers Association & American Truck Dealers' Convention and Expo.
