The Eliant Homebuyers' Choice Awards competition honors homebuilders who provided that best customer experience over the past year in the U.S. and Canada.

More than 68,000 customer experience management surveys were used to determine the winners. Respondents were recent homeowners from more than 170 major homebuilders.

The company with the best overall purchase and ownership experience was Scottsdale, Arizona-based Rosewood Homes. This was the company's third straight year winning the award, making it the first time ever a homebuilder has accomplished the feat. Rosewood also had the highest overall customer satisfaction rating of all other builders.

Best overall customer experience for the multi-divisional builder segment went to The Olson Company of Seal Beach, California. The company promotes an "above-and-beyond" home buying experience, which resonates with consumers.

In all, 44 different builders were recognized for their efforts in 2011.

J.D. Power and Associates recently performed a customer satisfaction survey about home buyer satisfaction in the Canadian provinces of Alberta and Calgary. Both areas improved compared to 2009 primarily because of "improvements in home builder service/warranty staff and home readiness."
