In anticipation of New Year's Eve, restaurants nationwide are revving up their customer satisfaction and loyalty management strategies to meet the needs of festive diners.

According to a recent survey from the National Restaurant Association, approximately 100 million Americans are expected to celebrate the New Year at a restaurant or bar, or by ordering restaurant takeout or delivery.

Specifically, the research surveyed 1,006 American adults and found that one in five consumers plan to go out to a restaurant on New Year's Eve, compared to 10 percent of respondents who indicated they would be eating out on Christmas Eve.

"New Year's is traditionally one of the most popular times of the year to dine out," said Hudson Riehle, senior vice president of the research and knowledge group for the National Restaurant Association. "This year, we expect to see a welcomed bump in customer traffic both on- and off-premises as we ring in the new year."

Regardless of which holiday customers decide to dine out on, restaurant proprietors will want to make sure they offer the best service possible, including great prices, quick service and a festive atmosphere.
