The seventh annual NRF Foundation/American Express Customers' Choice survey has recognized retailers that provided the best customer service over the course of the year.

The seventh annual NRF Foundation/American Express Customers' Choice survey has recognized retailers that provided the best customer service over the course of the year.

The NRF Foundation, the research and education arm of the National Retail Federation, recently announced the top 10 finalists from the survey, which was conducted between September 6 and 14 by BIGresearch.

Finalists include Amazon.com, JCPenney, Kohl's Department Stores, Lands' End, L.L.Bean, Newegg, Nordstrom, Overstock.com, QVC and Zappos. These 10 companies received the largest amount of votes among the 46 total retailers involved in the study.

Interestingly, the same 10 companies were all finalists in last year's survey as well, with Zappos earning the top spot, followed by Amazon, L.L. Bean, Overstock and Lands' End.

Specifically, Zappos has been able to earn the trust and gratitude of its customers with its 100 percent satisfaction guaranteed return policy and by upgrading loyal and frequent shoppers to Next Day or Second Day air shipping from ground shipping, Practical eCommerce reports.

Forbes reports that Zappos founder Nick Swinmurn has taken his customer-friendly approach to a new company called RNKD, which rewards customers for taking photos of clothing and accessories they have in their closets. They are then able to receive discounts directly from the brands they wear most.
