Mystery shopping has blossomed in recent decades to become a full-blown multi-national business. But as more and more secret shoppers hit businesses to provide their schedulers with reliable market data, the need to be represented by an industury-wide association becomes pressing. That's where the Mystery Shopping Providers Association comes in.
Secret shoppers from all backgrounds need to consider certification from the MSPA, as such credentials assert one's knowledge and experience and can even help secure more mystery shopping jobs.
"Being certified also demonstrates that you are a pro," writes Cathy Stucker for the blog The Mystery Shopper's Manual. "Companies want to work with shoppers who understand the mystery shopping industry and are professional, so it is no surprise that many companies prefer to give assignments to MSPA-certified shoppers."
Secret shopping is only expected to grow in coming years, especially as the economy improves and businesses seek top-of-the-line market research to boost their service strategies and optimize sales. Accordingly, now may be the ideal time to become MSPA-certified.
